In the summer of 2022, after two years of standstill due to the pandemic, tourism began to flourish again.

Nowadays, it is one of the biggest industries and essential for the economy in most countries, which has resulted in an overpopulation in the cities. In my reportage I focused on the four most famous cities in Flanders.

Having visited Antwerp, Brussel, Brugge and Gent 15 times,the cities have taken on  the appearance of an amusement park.

People follow tour guides or follow their mobile phones. You get poked by selfie sticks, stumble over rubbish or children and the smell of various food makes you nauseous.

I ask the viewer the question - what do you find beautiful about being a tourist?
